Viktors Kovaļovs paziņo par jaunas profesionālās nodaļas izveidi un starptautiskas kartupeļu nozares ekosistēmas izaugsmi

Starting December 1, 2026, Victor Kovalev, founder of the international project Potatoes.News un Starptautiskā kartupeļu tūre (IPT), is leaving his position at the Agrotrade group of companies (the “Potato System” direction) to focus fully on developing his own international initiatives in the potato industry.

A new stage

Victor Kovalev has worked for several years within the Agrotrade group of companies, where he helped develop the “Potato System” (“Картофельная Система”) direction. Over this time, alongside his work at the company, he launched and grew two independent international projects: the news platform Potatoes.News and the International Potato Tour, a series of professional trips and events for people working in the potato industry around the world.

As these projects have grown, Kovalev has decided to dedicate his primary professional attention to them going forward.

"Pēdējo dažu gadu laikā Potatoes.News and the International Potato Tour have grown from side projects into something that genuinely matters to the international potato community. I’ve reached the point where I can no longer give them the attention they deserve while combining this work with my responsibilities at Agrotrade. Starting December 1, I will be focusing fully on these two projects,” said Victor Kovalev.

Potatoes.News is an international news platform covering the potato industry: production, trade, varieties, processing, agronomy, and market trends from around the world.

Starptautiskā kartupeļu tūre (IPT) is a series of professional trips and events that bring together growers, breeders, processors, traders, and researchers from the global potato industry for direct, in-person exchange of experience and contacts.

“My goal is for Potatoes.News and the International Potato Tour to become genuinely useful tools for everyone working in this industry — a place for reliable, up-to-date information, and real opportunities to meet in person, see production facilities with your own eyes, and build lasting professional relationships,” noted Kovalev.

Victor Kovalev thanked his colleagues at Agrotrade and the “Potato System” team for their shared work, and emphasized that he plans to continue developing relationships across the industry, now with his full attention devoted to Potatoes.News un Starptautiskā kartupeļu tūre.
